"Lattanzi 3-D printer lab"

We do most of our work in the Advanced Infrastructure Monitoring (AIM) Laboratory at Mason. The AIM lab was designed to enable both high performance computational work as well as next-generation field inspection initiatives. Our day-to-day equipment includes:

  • purpose built high performance computing systems
  • scientific imaging and image calibration tools
  • 3D laser scanning equipment
  • virtual reality hardware
  • several 3D printers
  • inspection robots (mostly UAVs)
  • benchtop design and repair workspaces
  • field inspection equipment
  • a variety of sensors, embeddable computers, and other gadgets
